Are you looking for something fun to do this Halloween?
Witch-ing You A Happy Halloween!
I’ve celebrated Halloween six or seven times in the Kansai area, so trust me if you’re looking for something fun to do. Here are Halloween activities in Osaka that might be right up your alley. Enjoy Halloween with friends or family in Osaka!
And yes, this article is going to be filled with Halloween puns at your expense. I’ve got a few Halloween jokes, but they suck! ba-dum-tsss.
(All jokes were taken from bad dad joke websites lol)
1)Where My Ghouls At? USJ HALLOWEEN!
Of course, I had to start with this one! Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is one of the top places people flock to during Halloween. Every year, USJ transforms with a spooky twist on its usual attractions. Just imagine going around with all your favorite anime and video game characters while you go on fun amusement park rides. Isn’t that a dream come true?
You can enjoy Halloween fun at USJ until November 4th, so make sure to get your tickets before all the other monsters do! Don’t be afraid to dress up—plenty of people will be in cosplay too!
2) Halloween/ Fall Workshop
You’re in luck if you’re around Umeda! There are always fun workshops for people of all ages, from kids to adults. These family-friendly events are perfect for enjoying with a loved one. For example, check out the ongoing workshop in Umeda until October 27, 2024.
You can also browse the calendar for other events happening in Hanshin. Show off your creative side and make some spooky artwork at one of these Osaka Halloween workshops!
3)Halloween Themed Cafe
For those who prefer something more chill, how about visiting a Halloween-themed café? Not only will you get the BEST Instagram photos, but you can also make your friends jealous with your yummy treats!
I visited Daily Dose Coffee Café (inside the DD House in Umeda) after seeing their Halloween special dessert. The moment I saw the cute little kuma, I knew I had to eat him up!
I highly recommend this Halloween-themed café food in Osaka! You can eat some must-try Halloween treats in Umeda, you’ll be coming back every year for more!
Check out my TikTok about it here!
4)Shake Your Boo-Ty in Umeda or Namba🧙🏾♀️
I know, I know, when I mention the Umeda/Namba area, you probably think of city life and all that comes with it. I believe that these cities offer a variety of different events for all people, introverts and extroverts alike. If you’re feeling really wild and bat to the bone, why not go to the club? Or a live in-house ? I will link three different clubs that you can go to below so that you can make the spookiest of memories with your friends.
These are all foreigner-friendly so you can live up and enjoy the Osaka Halloween nightlife 🙂
5)Check Out Your Local Flier
This is actually something I mentioned before and something I will keep repeating each and every year when the holidays come around. There are actually a lot of family-friendly activities that the kids will just love!
Check.Your.Local.Fliers!
And not so subtle plug, but check out my Halloween blog from the previous year.
Not just your local ones, but those posted around train stations. You can find some of the best events just by looking up from your phone. Here’s a poster I spotted at one of my regular train stations.
Lazy Bones
Here are some fun activities you can do if you’re a bit lazy or if you just don’t want to leave your home.
BONUS: Bugs and Hisses Movie Marathon
Nothing screams Halloween like a spooky scary movie marathon. Have a scary sleepover with your friends on Halloween weekend! And yes, I’m talking to the gentlemen out there too. Get together with some friends and have a fun movie marathon with yummy snacks, drinks, and the spookiest costume you can find!
Here are three Halloween movies in Japanese that you may be interested in🎃
- Perfect Blue
- Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories
Or here’s a real kicker! It seems like a normal family documentary but watch the behind the scenes of it and the breakdown of stuff you probably didn’t even notice in the first watching! I promise you’ll be scared to sleep like I was.
- Saiko: The Large Family
(Here’s the behind the scenes that I highly recommend you watch: This Japanese Mockumentary Actually Freaked Me Out…)
So Long Sucker!🧛🏾
Make sure to have fun and stay safe this Halloween. I hope that you are able to make many fun memories with your friends and that you can enjoy celebrating Halloween in Japan. Hopefully I’ll see you around Umeda that day~
