Are you looking to light up your world? Hoping to hear something beautiful and classical? Maybe you’re a Studio Ghibli fan and dream of hearing some of Joe Hisaishi’s most iconic works live? Then why not experience the magic of a Candlelight Orchestra night in Osaka?

Musical Fun For All

The Candlelight Experience is something that everyone should attend at least once in their life. As a huge Studio Ghibli lover (you can check out my Ghibli adventure here) and a former “orcha-dork” during my middle and high school years (I play the violin, lol), I can confidently say this experience was absolutely beautiful.
Date? Birthday? Candlelight Night is the Perfect Gift
If you forgot your girlfriend’s or boyfriend’s birthday—or if you’re looking for a cute, unique friend date—look no further! This is one of the best gifts you can give someone in Osaka. It’s a meaningful experience, a lasting memory, and the perfect place to take aesthetic photos during the designated photo-taking time.
I went with my amazing friend, Junko, as a birthday celebration, and it was so fun. You can also check out some of our other Kansai adventures below:

Candlelight Osaka Tickets and Reservations
We reserved our Candlelight Orchestra Osaka tickets online in advance. Prices vary depending on the date, event theme, and seating area you choose. Junko and I chose Section C since Section D was sold out. (Spoiler: sitting in Section C was perfect—it’s not too close and not too far. It’s just right!)
You can expect to spend at least ¥3,800+ per ticket. Ours were around ¥5,800, which honestly felt worth every yen for such a magical evening.
My Candlelight Night Experience
As a longtime orchestra fan and someone who loves philharmonic concerts, this was a dream come true. The show we attended was themed around Studio Ghibli music, which made it even more special.
We technically went to celebrate Junko’s birthday—but honestly, it felt like we were celebrating mine too. Listening to 65 minutes of Joe Hisaishi’s iconic compositions felt like a little piece of heaven on Earth. From the opening theme of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind to the main theme from My Neighbor Totoro, and of course, Howl’s Moving Castle’s “Merry-Go-Round of Life”, the night was filled with pure nostalgia and beauty.
The atmosphere was absolutely enchanting—the candles, the music, the dim lighting—everything was perfect. Hands down, this makes for an unforgettable experience whether you’re going as lovers, friends, or even bringing children.
And props to the amazing quartet that played so wonderfully :).
Souvenirs and Memories
When the concert ended, I was surprised (and thrilled) to see that they were selling the same LED candles they used on stage! (Well, not the exact ones from on stage, but the same kind) These cute, remote-controlled LED candles were too hard to resist—I ended up buying the three package one.
You can get one for ¥1,000 or a set of three for ¥2,500. Totally worth it! I’m currently in my “make my home a happy place” era, so nothing brings me more joy at night than turning on these flickering candles every night. They look just like real ones—especially when my room is dark. I also love that they have a built-in timer (2, 4, or 8 hours), so I don’t have to worry about turning them off.
They also make for a great romantic gift—simple, cozy, and full of memories from your candlelight night.
After Musical….Food?
If you go to the Candlelight Orchestra at the Noh Ohtsuki Theatre (which I highly recommend—it’s breathtaking inside and out), you’re definitely going to want to grab something yummy afterward.
So, why not visit Henry’s Pizza, the same place BLACKPINK’s Jennie ate at? 🍕
It’s only a short 7-minute walk from the theater and has quickly become one of my favorite pizza spots in Osaka. Whenever I’m craving authentic New York-style pizza, I know exactly where to go. The pizza is delicious, savory, affordable, and the atmosphere is so chill—you honestly can’t go wrong.
Whether you’re on a date, hanging out with friends, or just wrapping up your concert night, Henry’s Pizza is the perfect post-Candlelight meal.
Happy Candle Lighting!

No matter which concert you choose, the Candlelight Orchestra Osaka experience will leave you feeling inspired, relaxed, and full of warmth.
Until next time—stay happy, healthy, and musical!
