As you may know, I’m always up for a good time and an adventure of a lifetime. That being said, whenever Halloween in Japan comes around, I get so excited by all the amazing events created just to celebrate it. From haunted houses to Halloween tea parties, Kansai has so much to offer.

You can check out some of my past articles on Halloween and other fun adventures here:

Now feels like the perfect time to drop these new events so you can start preparing your costumes and making plans. Lucky us—Halloween 2025 falls on a weekend this year. Yay!

10 Events in the Kansai

1)USJ Halloween Horror Nights (Osaka)

Come on, it’s a classic! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Universal Studios Japan’s famous Halloween Horror Nights. This is the ultimate place to go if you’re hoping to get into costume or just slip on a pair of cat ears and blend in with the crowd. The park is filled with zombie zones, haunted houses, scary shows, and staff in spooky costumes, so you’ll definitely feel like you’re part of the action.

If you want the best Osaka Halloween experience, this should be at the top of your list.

2)The Witching Hour Afternoon Tea (Osaka – Senri Hankyu Hotel)

There are plenty of Halloween-themed afternoon teas in Japan, but this one has a particularly elegant yet spooky vibe. Why not head to Senri Hankyu Hotel and try their limited Halloween tea set? You’ll get to gobble down delicious, creepy-cute sweets and snacks while sipping tea like a chic vampire.

This is perfect for people who don’t necessarily want to wear a costume but still want a calm yet festive Halloween activity during the day.

The gardens transform into an autumn wonderland, complete with Halloween decorations, seasonal flowers, and photo spots perfect for your Instagram feed. It’s family-friendly but still very fun for adults too.

Want to see some demons this Halloween? Okay, maybe not real—but Toei Kyoto Studio Park brings legends to life with their Night Parade of 100 Youkai. On weekends, you can watch a spooky parade featuring yokai (Japanese folklore monsters) that you may have seen in anime or classic tales.

It’s both cultural and creepy, and it gives you a totally different experience than Western-style Halloween. This is a must-see for anyone visiting Kyoto in October 2025.

6) KidZania Koshien Halloween (Nishinomiya, Hyogo)

Last but not least, a fun event for kids! KidZania Koshien in Nishinomiya is hosting a special Halloween adventure for children. Kids can walk around, collect stamps and sweets, and even participate in cute costume parades.

Happy Halloweening

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I really hope you can enjoy it too. It’s one of the only times of year when you can walk around in a wild, creepy costume and have everyone say, “That’s so cool!”

Since Halloween 2025 falls on a Friday, I hope you take full advantage of it. Go out after work, hit up a party, or just stroll through Osaka, Kyoto, or Kobe in your best spooky look. Whether you’re into haunted houses, Halloween fairs, or Japanese yokai parades, the Kansai area is filled with unique Halloween experiences for everyone.

So go show off your spooky style, live your best haunted life, and remember—it’s all about making memories.

Until next time, stay happy, healthy, and spookily wonderful!
