Are you hoping to add a little cuteness to your life? Maybe you just want to pet something super fluffy and sweet? Come with me as I visit one of the cutest and fluffiest cafés in Japan — a Samoyed dog café in Osaka!

Looking for a Cute, Fluffy Adventure in Osaka?

If you’re anything like me, you love café hopping and exploring unique cafés in Japan. I’m always down to check out new spots that offer a twist on the regular coffee shop experience. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was when my friend’s husband suggested that we all check out a dog café in Osaka he had heard about — and not just any dog café, but one full of giant fluffy Samoyeds!
Why Are Japanese Samoyed Dog Cafes So Special?

Japan is known for its endless stream of creative, quirky cafés — from owl cafés and hedgehog cafés to ninja-themed coffee shops. But I think this Samoyed dog café in Osaka truly stands out.
If you’ve lived in Japan for a while, or even just visited, you’ve probably noticed that it’s pretty rare to come across big dogs. Most pet owners here tend to go for smaller breeds like Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, or Yorkshire Terriers because of how compact and convenient they are for apartment life.
That’s why this café was such a dream for me! I’ve always loved big dogs, and I was so excited to finally play with not just dogs — but huge, fluffy, snowball-sized Samoyeds that still kind of resemble their wolf-like ancestors. It’s not every day you get to chill with gentle giants like these.
So if you’re a dog lover looking for a one-of-a-kind experience in Osaka, this is your sign to go.
We all went to the 犬カフェsamo / サモエドカフェ大阪.
AKA: Samoyed Cafe Osaka
Samoyed Cafe Reservation Process
Let me be real with you — there’s no skipping this step. You must make a reservation in advance through their official website. This place gets booked up quickly (Obviously! Have you seen how cute Samoyeds are?! haha).
Bonus tip! Try to avoid booking your visit around 2 PM. The dogs usually get a bit sleepy and take naps around that time, so to catch them at their most playful, choose an earlier or later time slot if you can.
Price Point
A one-hour session costs 2,475 yen, and you can expect to spend a bit more if you buy snacks, souvenirs, or extra experiences like feeding the dogs.
Although they technically allow walk-ins, your chances of actually getting in without a reservation are pretty close to zero.
Arrival and Fun

Make sure to arrive at least 10 minutes early. You’ll need to check in under the name you reserved with, sanitize your hands, and slip on the indoor slippers provided. There’s also a short list of rules you’ll need to read before you enter the puppy play area. It doesn’t take long, but it helps everyone (and the dogs) stay safe and happy.
Meet Your Little Furry Friends
Look at how cute all of the puppies are!

These dogs are absolute angels! Every single one of them is adorable and fluffy — and yes, they love attention.
Some of the Samoyeds are super playful, while others are more chill and relaxed. If you or your child is a little nervous around dogs, don’t worry! The variety of personalities here means there’s probably a dog that’ll be a perfect match for you. Whether you’re looking to cuddle or play, this café has you covered.
Feeding Time at the Cafe
You can pay a little extra to feed the Samoyeds, and I highly recommend it. The dogs are free to wander around and choose who they want to play with, so sometimes you might experience a little lull where no pups are hanging out with you. Having food is a great way to attract some furry friends your way. ;).
Picture Time

Here’s the best part — these fluffy babies are trained to sit still for photos! The staff will even offer to use your phone or camera to snap the perfect picture for you. If you’re coming for Instagram-worthy shots, this is your golden moment.
Souvenirs from the Samoyed Cafe

Right at the front of the café, there’s a cute little shop where you can buy all kinds of Samoyed-themed souvenirs. From Polaroids you take with your favorite pup to pre-snapped photos of the resident dogs, you’re sure to find something to remember the experience.
You can also grab things like keychains, stickers, and other adorable goodies that make for great gifts — or let’s be honest, a treat for yourself.
Happy Puppy Playing!

As a huge dog lover, I can’t recommend Samoyed Cafe Osaka enough. It was truly one of the most heartwarming, fun experiences I’ve had in Japan. The hour flew by in what felt like minutes, and I left feeling so happy and energized.
Whether you’re a tourist, an expat, or just looking for something new to do in Osaka, this café is perfect for all ages. Seriously — who doesn’t feel instantly better after cuddling a giant fluffy puppy?
Be sure to schedule your experience soon! In the meantime, please check out these fun-filled cafés for you to go to and enjoy.
