Tokyo Skytree

The famous Skytree is in Sumida. You can climb this broadcast and observatory tower and see an amazing view on all Tokyo. It make 634 meters and was created on 2010, there are 29 floors ! It should be on your Japan bucket list ! Under there is a big mall and aquarium.

Sumo

In Sumida you can assist to practice of Sumo, this sport in really impressive and traditional, you can reserved tickets online and discover about the culture. There is also a museum dedicated to them. It is the most Japanese activity you can do.

 

 


 

Edo-Tokyo Museum

This museum is dedicated to the Edo period in Japan, one of the most richest historical history of the country. The museum wants to preserved anything related to the period so it’s perfect for all the family, you can discover a little bit more about Japanese history !

Asahi Beer Headquarters

Visit this huge building near the Skytree, dedicated to the office of the famous beer brand Asahi. You can’t miss it, the shape of the building looks like a glass for beer and on the top there is a golden flame sculpture. You can visit the building to discover the history of the brand but also to grape a coffee or eat in restaurants.

 

 


 

Take a Ferry

As Sumida is near the river, you can take a ferry just next the Skytree to discover the district differently. Ferries are really futurist and are full of glasses, you can spot the sunset over the river. Some ferries can take you right to Asakusa !

 

 

 

 


 

The Sumida Hokusai Museum

You obviously know this famous artist, he did “The Great Wave of Kanagawa” and so many others ! So you can visit the dedicated museum to discover more about the history of the artist and his art. The building is also a wonderful architectural place to see.
